Alice Klein is a reporter at New Scientist in Sydney, Australia, who mainly covers health and environment news. She has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Sydney and has worked as a staff journalist at New Scientist since 2016, after previously working as a reporter at Australian Doctor.
She has won several awards, including an Association of British Science Writers’ award for feature of the year in 2021 for her article about miscarriage, a National Press Club of Australia health journalism award in 2018, a National Press Club of Australia award for excellence in university research reporting in 2019, an award for excellence in journalism from the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia in 2017, and a joint award for excellence from the Society of Publishers in Asia in 2016. Her work has also been featured in the Best Australian Science Writing Anthology.
